The position of Aboriginal Project Officer for the “Yarning Along the Murray” Project, will be responsible for developing and piloting culturally sensitive cancer resources to raise awareness and understanding of cancer and its symptoms as well as engaging the local Aboriginal communities to conduct an education needs analysis. In addition, the Project Officer will facilitate cancer education sessions and clinical placements with local Aboriginal health workers and community members to build their capacity to support Aboriginal people with cancer. It is expected that this program will increase the number of Aboriginal people with cancer who are referred to the local cancer services so that they can be diagnosed earlier, ultimately improving their outcomes.
The position will be based at the Hume RICS Wodonga office, but will involve weekly/fortnightly meetings with the Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service in Albury. It is envisaged that the role will also entail regular travel to collaborate with other key stakeholders, including to Deniliquin, Echuca/Moama, Shepparton, Finley, Corowa and the Cummeragunja Aboriginal Reserve.

The Medical Imaging Department provides a wide range of imaging services including ultrasound, echocardiography, fluoroscopy (C-arm), CR/DR, CT (including cardiac) and 3T MRI. Agfa PACS is integrated with the Radiology Information System. The Medical Imaging Department also supports satellite radiography services at Tatura and Nathalia Hospitals. The department is fully accredited under the new Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme (DIAS) by NATA until January 2015.
The successful applicant will preferably hold a post graduate diploma or higher in a relevant discipline and have well developed organizational and people skills with a proven ability to manage a unit or imaging modality in a prior role. The appointee must hold a current Radiation Use Licence for Victoria. Both clinical and administrative tasks will be included in the role, with the appointee assisting in the preparation of rosters, executive submissions and funding reviews.

The Chronic Pain Clinic is a newly established service for the region and this position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of a dynamic interdisciplinary team and the clinic's programs.
The Chronic Pain Clinic provides assessment, care planning and management of people experiencing complex, persisting pain, on a time-limited basis. Other professional members of the Chronic Pain Clinic team include a Medical (Rehabilitation) Specialist, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, Psychologist and Physiotherapist. The team also works closely with other Allied Health disciplines.
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing clinical support to clients of the Chronic Pain Clinic, through one-on-one therapeutic intervention and as a facilitator of self-management skill building group programs. As an AHPRA registered clinician, you will have broad clinical experience in the area of assessment and management of people experiencing complex, chronic conditions. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and well developed understanding of an evidence based approach to person-centred care will be well suited to the role.

The successful applicant is required to be eligible for membership of and to possess a statement of accreditation from the Australian Institute of Radiography and currently be registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board (AHPRA).
